Pyjama Day!….

Residents and staff at St Peters enjoyed a very comfortable PJ day at the home recently, a great way to unwind after a busy few weeks. There were a few people who wore matching sets and really looked the part, as we all settled down with a nice cup of hot chocolate!

We all relaxed and watched a few christmas films ahead of the big day tomorrow – Merry Christmas!

A Christmas Celebration…..

At Orchard House, we had a fantastic time during our staff Christmas party last week. It was an excellent party and a celebration of diversity with our food selection on offer – we are truly lucky to have such a friendly and hard-working group of staff at the home!

We would like to extend our gratitude to all family that made donations of gifts, chocolates and wine for the staff as well – a lovely Christmas gesture.

Another Fantastic Show!….

Residents at St Peters are accustomed to fantastic performances at the home, and that was certainly the case recently. We were treated to a lovely evening pantomime from Eva Long Productions, as they performed The Mother Goose. Residents, staff and their children all loved watching the show and it had everyone smiling and laughing throughout.

A lovely activity to have in the build-up to Christmas – everyone’s in the festive spirit now!…

Trouble Strikes Again….

We have been noticing on a few occasions that some snacks have gone missing at The Ruddington. Well, not too long ago one of our staff found the culprit! Of course it was Trouble, our elf on the shelf, up to his old tricks and helping himself to some sweet and savoury treats.

He claimed that he earned these as payment for all the joy he has brought to the home – what do you think?

Wreaking Havoc all over the Home…..

Over the past few weeks at Orchard House, we have been experiencing many strange incidents that can only be put down to the behaviour of our elf on a shelf! He has been up to his mischievous antics as always, including climbing over the art we have on display on the walls in the home, spilling his cereal over the kitchen counter, even sneaking some of the chocolate treats for himself!

Of course we have caught him in the act doing all these things, but we were most surprised to see him teaching himself some magic – obviously we weren’t going to fall for his tricks when he asked us to pick a card!

Amazing Art…..

Staff at The Ruddington have been showcasing their creative side this December, as we have had some truly beautiful additions to our windows. The wonderful Eluid has been taking over at the home with some excellent Christmas-themed art to give the home an extra festive touch.

Of course, everyone has taken notice of these gorgeous additions including Trouble, our elf on a shelf. He took it upon himself to have a go at some art as well!

Enjoying Christmastime…..

Here is a beautiful picture of one of our lovely residents at St Peters, Anne. She recently enjoyed some Christmas entertainment from a family member. We received a very heartfelt thanks from the family member saying that this time spent with Anne has ‘made their Christmas’ and we all had big smiles on our faces when hearing this.

A lovely message to receive in the build-up to Christmas that has filled our hearts with joy.

Weekly Exercise…..

Both residents and staff love our activities classes and sessions that we put on at St Peters. Here are some lovely photos from our weekly exercise class with the wonderful Sophie.

Our residents love being able to get active from the comfort of their own chairs and this is a session that they are always looking forward to!

Just Hanging Out….

At Balmore House, we have been invaded by an Elf on the Shelf! Throughout the past couple of days, we have been discovering one of Santa’s Little Helpers all over the home, whether he’s been hiding on top of doorways or hanging from curtain rails – there seems to be no boundaries for his mayhem.

We are sure that this is only just the beginning of the chaos as he’ll only get busier as we head closer towards Christmas!
